What's up with this?
- On Friday you got to see a preview of all the shine and show cars as well as the vintage Alfa Romeo Race Cars from the Paddock.
- On Saturday you enjoyed the Cortile della Corsa showfield as well as the rest of the Cortile Italian Car Show, and, perhaps got to visit several of the 16 other car shows on the 18 holes of golf course at the PVGP that make it the 8th largest car show in the world.
- Today! Today is THE DAY! Sunday is the MAIN EVENT! It's RACE DAY!
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Car Shows grew up around the race track. Sunday of the #PVGP weekend has evolved over 30+ years into THE day for watching the races. Unique to North America, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is the longest running vintage race on city streets. There is one other similar event in the world. It's in Monte Carlo.
Sunday events are focused on the #PVGP Racing and Paddock Tour. We have a very full event schedule listed below. It's a great day to kick off with a tour of the Paddock Race cars and have a shady lunch at our private viewing area in the Westinghouse Fountain. Later, you check out the Patron Parking parties.

10am - 3pm
Self Guided Paddock Tour It Begins at 10am. The Bus will pick up ticket holders at the shuttle stop at the bottom of the hill and run you over to the Paddock. There you can begin a self guided tour of the Paddock where you can meet and see the Paddock set up of the race drivers that visited the Cortile on Saturday. |
11am - 3pm
VIP Trackside Viewing Area It's Turn 9 on the PVGP Race Course. Cheer on the Italian Racers! THIS is what the #PVGP is all about! The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy recently completed renovations to the historic landmark Westinghouse Pond. This IS the very best place to watch the races at the PVGP. As the racers approach Turn 9 they jocky for position into the apex directly in front of you. If they've done it correctly, you can see them pass each other as they start up the hill exiting the apex. This tree lined area next to the Westinghouse Pond is cooler that any other viewing spot on the track! AROC member, Bob Mazza will be on hand for a special wine tasting experience courtesy of his vineyard. |
